The research team of Professor Young-Gab Kim of the Department of Information Security at Sejong University (Security Engineering Laboratory), together with the research team of Professor Hee-dong Kim of the Department of Semiconductor Systems Engineering (Next-Generation Nano Device Lab) and the research team of Professor Yoon-sik Cho of the Department of AI at Chung-Ang University (Data Science Lab), jointly held the ‘Workshop on the Development of Core Technologies and Systems for Autonomous and Cooperative Intelligent Response for National Disaster Safety Management’ on September 6.
The workshop was held with support from the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) STEAM Future Promising Convergence Technology Pioneer research program. The goal of the research project is to develop collective situational awareness and cooperative intelligence technologies through hyper-connectivity among things, machines, and humans, in order to autonomously and intelligently predict, assess, and respond to various social and natural disaster situations. In addition, through active exchanges of opinions and advice with external experts and with PCN and Danusys, companies expected to participate in the second phase of the project, the participants defined the current status of related technologies and the disaster response scenarios for implementing the research project’s technologies in more concrete terms.
At the workshop, presentations for the development of autonomous and cooperative intelligence core technologies were given on ▲a national disaster safety management scenario based on autonomous and cooperative intelligent response core technologies (Research Professor Ja-hoon Koo) ▲crowd simulation (Director Woo-sung Lee, PCN) ▲the status and trends of intelligent monitoring (Principal Researcher Yoon-jin Lee, Danusys) ▲a retaining wall management system using AI-based sensor and video data (Professor Jang-sik Park of Kyungsung University, Chair of the Intelligent CCTV Project Group (PG427) of the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA)), followed by discussions on future research directions and on making technology development more concrete.
